About Us

A complete golf centre, above the Exe Estuary

Fifty-five acres of free-draining Devon countryside, five minutes from Exeter — and a warm welcome whatever your handicap.

Our story

Spectacular golf, open to everyone

Exminster Golf Centre sits on the slopes of Exminster Hill, in 55 acres of prime Devon countryside above the Exe Estuary. A natural spring feeds two lakes, the fairways roll out towards far-reaching views over the estuary and Woodbury, and the free-draining soil keeps us playable all year round — long after wetter courses have closed.

We’re just five minutes from Exeter and a couple of minutes from the M5 at Junction 30, with plenty of free parking. That makes us an easy, relaxed place to play whether you’re a low-handicap regular or picking up a club for the first time.

Above all, we’re a complete golf centre and a friendly one. There’s a characterful nine-hole, eighteen-tee course, a 16-bay floodlit driving range, PGA coaching and custom fitting, a fully-stocked pro shop, and the Charcombes Lounge for food, drink and celebrations. Everyone is welcome — no membership needed.

About us FAQs

Where is Exminster Golf Centre?

We’re on Exminster Hill, just outside Exeter in Devon (EX6 8GA). It’s around five minutes from the city and a couple of minutes from the M5 at Junction 30, with free on-site parking.

Do I need to be a member to play?

No. We’re a friendly pay & play centre — anyone can book a tee time and play. We also offer a range of memberships if you’d like a handicap and competition golf, but they’re never required.

Is the course really open all year?

Yes. Free-draining soil on Exminster Hill keeps our 55-acre course playable through the wettest Devon winters, so you can play all year round when other courses are waterlogged.
